ORIGINS OF THE NAME

Originally in the Dutch form, Blaauwberg Strand and named after a nearby hill.
(Blaauwberg translates to Blue Mountain.)

HISTORY

Bloubergstrand originated as a fishing village and holiday resort for farmers living inland.
